Greenslopes will gain a new blood and plasma donation location when the Greenslopes Donor Centre opens at Greenslopes Mall, placing a Lifeblood service inside the Logan Road shopping centre.
Access At Greenslopes Donor Centre
The centre will operate from 22 September, at Shop B1 on the ground floor of Greenslopes Mall at 700 Logan Road. Australian Red Cross Lifeblood lists appointments from the opening day, with further availability shown across the following days.
Both blood and plasma donations will be available at the centre. Lifeblood also lists the site as accessible, with donor parking available and entry through the underground car park next to Jetts Fitness.
Public transport is available nearby at Logan Road at Greenslopes Mall, stop 24. Bus routes 172, 175 and 189 are listed for the stop, giving donors another way to reach the centre.
Blood, Plasma And Group Donations
The new Greenslopes location will also be available for group donations through Lifeblood Teams. Workplaces are among the groups being encouraged to arrange donations, with the Greenslopes centre set to receive teams after opening.
The centre is opening while Lifeblood is seeking more plasma donations nationally. In its national supply update recently, plasma was the only listed category marked as needing more donations.
O positive, O negative, A positive and A negative blood supplies were rated OK in that update, while B positive, B negative, AB positive and AB negative were rated Good. Lifeblood continues to accept donations across blood types as well as plasma from eligible donors.
Other Southside Donation Locations
The Greenslopes Donor Centre will join other donation locations listed around Brisbane’s inner southside.
These include the Holland Park Pop-up Donor Centre at Holland Park Sports Club, 49 Abbotsleigh Street, and the Fairfield Mobile Donor Centre at South Brisbane District Cricket Club, 269 Venner Road. Lifeblood also lists the Queensland Children’s Hospital Mobile Donor Centre at 501 Stanley Street in South Brisbane.

Operating hours have been listed for the Greenslopes centre across all seven days and public holidays. Appointment availability is currently shown from Tuesday 22 September through to Sunday 27 September.
